Requirements 4mm long circular needle 100gms / 360 mtrs Ice Yarn Magic


yfwd – yarn forward. Place yarn to the front of your work then over the needle to knit the next stitch

Sl 1 - slip the first stitch (do not knit into it)

K2tog – knit 2 together

Stretchy cast off

Knit one row

Edge Pattern

Row 1 – sl 1 knit wise K3 (yfwd k2tog) seven times, yfwd, k2 (21 stitches)

Row 2 and all even rows knit

Row 3- sl 1 knit wise K6 (yfwd k2tog) six times, yfwd, k2 (22 stitches)

Row 5- sl 1 knit wise K9 (yfwd k2tog) five times, yfwd, k2 (23 stitches)

Row 7 - s1 k wise knit all stitches

Row 8- cast off 3 stitches using stretchy cast off (see abbreviations)

Rows - 9,10,11,12 – knit

Repeat rows 1 – 12 until you have 24 points in total

Repeat rows 1 – 7 once

Next row cast off in stretchy cast off leaving the last stitch on the right hand needle.

Without turning your work pick up 171(inc stitch already on needle) stitches evenly along the top edge. As a rule each ladder between the garter stitch should be a stitch. If you don't have the exact number increase to the required number on the next row.

Repeat rows 1 – 7 ( row 3 will have 3 stitches to knit at the end)

Decrease row: *k3, k2tog repeat from * across row. 22 sts dec. 88 sts rem.

Knit 14 rows

Decrease row: *k3, k2tog repeat from * across row to last 3 sts, k3. 17 sts dec. 71


Knit 14 rows

Leave theses stitches on the needle. Break yarn.

With right side of work facing using the right needle tip pick up stitches along the front edge as follows:- 23 stitches on lace edge 24 stitches on the shawl body knit across 71 body stitches

24 stitches on the shawl body

23 stitches on lace boarder

165 stitches in total

Knit two rows

Next row (you should be on the reverse side of your work)

K1,* K2 tog , yfwd* repeat *-* until last 2 stitches K

Knit 4 rows

Cast off as follows

(cast on 2 stitches into the first stitch on the left hand needle. Cast off 5 stitches)

Transfer the stitch from the right needle to the left needle and then repeat ( ) Fasten off last stitch.
