Square number 32


I am in love with this little pattern.I think I will be using it in a design eventually. A few abbreviations for this square -

sl1 - slip the stitch from the left needle onto the right needle without knitting

psso - pass the slipped stitched over the two stitches you have just knit

yrn - yarn round needle - in this pattern you purl the stitch taking the yarn around the needle and back into the purl position




ARAN WEIGHT YARN 5mm needles

cast on 22 stitches

Row 1 - k1,*sl1,k2,psso,p2* repeat *-* until last stitch,k1 (You have 16 stitches on your needle)

Row 2 - k1,*k2,p1,yrn,p1* repeat *-* until last stitch k1

Row 3 - k1,* k3,p2* repeat *-* until last stitch,k1

Row 4 - k1,*k2,p3* repeat *-* until last stitch,k1

work rows 1 - 4 until work measures 4" - cast off on row 3 or 4.

DOUBLE KNITTING YARN 4mm needles

cast on 24 stitches

Row 1 - k2,*sl1,k2,psso,p2* repeat *-* until 2 stitches,k2 (You have 18 stitches on your needle)

Row 2 - k2,*k2,p1,yrn,p1* repeat *-* until last 2 stitches k2

Row 3 - k1,* k3,p2* repeat *-* until last 2 stitches,k2

Row 4 - k2,*k2,p3* repeat *-* until last 2 stitches,k2

work rows 1 - 4 until work measures 4" - cast off on row 3 or 4.
