Square number 23


First thing I have to say about this square is that it doesn't come out looking like a square but don't panic it is fine when it is sewn to your other squares.

Abbreviations yfwd - place the yarn to the front of your work then over the needle ready to knit the next stitch (you have made a stitch)

k2tog - knit the next two stitches together (you have decreased a stitch)



CAST ON

Aran weight - 5mm - 20 stitches

Double knitting 4mm - 23 stitches

Row 1 - purl

Row 2- k2,* yfwd, k3 then pass the 1st stitch of the last 3 stitches knit over 2nd and 3rd stitch* repeat *-* until the end of the row

Row 3 - purl

Row 4 - k1,*yfwd,k3 then pass the 1st stitch of the last 3 stitches knit over 2nd and 3rd stitch* repeat *-* until last stitch, k1

Row 5 - purl

Row 6 - k3, yfwd, k3 then pass the 1st stitch of the last 3 stitches knit over 2nd and 3rd stitch* repeat *-* until the last 2 stitches yfwd, k2tog

Continue working rows 1 - 6 until your work measures 4" cast off
