A nice Garter stitch slip pattern.
ARAN weight yarn 5mm needles cast on 19sts
DK and 4mm needles cast on 23 stitches.
If you are a tight knitter you may need to add an extra 2 stitches to my cast on number.
ABBREVIATIONS
s1purlwise - slip the stitch from you left needle to your right needle as if you were going to purl it (don't knit the stitch) leaving your yarn at the back of your work ready to knit the next stitch.
yf - bring the yarn between your needles to the front of your work
yb - take the yarn to the back of your work ready to knit the next stitch
Row 1 - knit all stitches
Row 2 - knit all stitches
Row 3 - k1,* sl 1purlwise,k1* repeat *-* until the end of the row
Row 4 - k1,*yf, sl 1purlwise,yb,k1* repeat *-* until the end of the row
Row 5 - knit all stitches
Row 6 - knit all stitches
Row 7 - k2,* sl 1purlwise,k1* repeat *-* until the last stitch,k1
Row 8 - k2,*yf, sl 1purlwise,yb,k1* repeat *-* until the last stitch,k1
Repeat row 1 - 8 until your work measure 4" cast off
